Our aim is to build a self sustaining community in which people of all abilities can thrive and live life as it was meant to be. Currently, there are very few options in the Kansas City metro area for people who need help caring for their loved one with special needs. At Meadowlark, we aim to fill that gap with a facility centered around family and offering services that respect, enrich, fulfill, and expand the lives of those who need a little extra consideration and daily support. We will foster independence through technology, job training, therapies, and enrichment (i.e. horse therapy, sensory gardens, yoga). We will offer a facility matching or exceeding the caliber of Rosewood Services in Great Bend, Kansas and Heartspring in Wichita, KS.
We also are driven to keep families together. Sending your child away from home is a heart wrenching decision, no matter their age. We aim to make this choice an easier one. Meadowlark will be located in Louisburg, KS, a short drive south of Overland Park, making it easy to pop down for a visit. We will offer family oriented events, support groups for siblings and parents, and enrichment classes you can take with your loved ones. Our onsite restaurant will be a welcoming place to enjoy a family meal.
Our vision for Meadowlark may seem like a lofty dream, but it's one shared by many families who deserve to see it become a reality. With your support, that can happen. Consider us first in your gifting, or when you're doing your produce shopping. Remember our non profit in your end of year donations. Spread the word about our Indiegogo campaign (coming when we reach 1000 Facebook likes) for the purchase of land and consider making a small contribution. Help us help those searching for a place where their dreams can take flight.
